Louisiana, Thank God

As I reported earlier in the posts that 3 days in Texas was 3 days of intense HEAT. Everyday over 100 degrees. We made the trek from Austin this morning starting at about 9:45 and rolled into Lafayette, LA about 7:15 this evening. Our route took us north of Houston and then straight south to Beaumont then east to Lafayette.

Now for the good news, after turning east on I10 out of Beaumont, TX the temperatures dropped 15 degrees and was a wonderful ride to Lafayette. Was making a decision to camp out due to the pleasant temps but low was only dropping to 74 with 90% humidity, to sticky to sleep out.
Bottom line we are at a Red Roof Inn and had dinner at Cracker Barrel. Tomorrow will start with the Waffle House and a pecan waffle with extra pecans...........UMMMM.

Before we left we gave Johnny and Cheryl riding lessons on the bikes, as you can see they had great fun and went through a tank of gas before bringing the bikes back.

Now They are going to the Harley dealer and picking out their new rides.

Tomorrow We are doing a relatively short ride of 315 miles with a few hours in New Orleans then a night in Dauphin Island, Alabama before heading for Florida the day after.

More to report with pics fron New Orleans

NIGHT, NIGHT
