Fabens, TX will be our first stop and first dinner meal, We are going to eat at one of the most famous Steak houses in the US. First leg is going to be one of the longest sections of the ride and accounts for 622 miles the first day.
Route will begin at 7:00 at ABT ( American Bike Tailor) in Colorado Springs and head due south on I 25 to Las Vegas, NM then south to Vaughn, NM and down to Alamogordo, NM and then into El Paso, TX. Fabens, is just outside of El Paso heading east.
Bikes are serviced and all I have to do is install the new lower forks and fork covers and put on a new front tire. Rear tire was changed less than 300 miles ago so will drive that one until we need tires and service somewhere on the west coast.
Camping gear has been stowed aboard, clothing has been determined along with the necessary riding apparel. Getting more and more excited due to my somewhat early departure from work. Made a miss calculation on my leave and was surprised that I could leave earlier than anticipated........:-)
Stinky is bringing his Bike from G.J. today and will come down to the Springs on the afternoon of the 22nd and stay here at the house for the 23rd departure.
