What an absolute beautiful ride from 101 on to 128 and over to Mendocino. Through an enchanting redwood forest that had the smell of a cedar chest for 40 miles. The only draw back is that they nearly had to surgically remove Stinky's seat from JJ due to a deer that looked more like a lightning bolt that ran out of in front of him.
Made it to Mendo and had lunch at a very nice cafe then hopped on the bikes and rode to Eureka on 1 and 101. Was planning to camp tonight however the wind and cold prevented that. We went out of the north end of town to look for the KOA but he wind was gusting to 25 miles an hour off the water, so we back tracked into town and found another one of our great motels. 4 guys in a Rodeway Inn and this time no AC on. Had dinner at happy hour across the road at a Red Lion $1.95 cheese burger, fries and a beer for $6 bucks.

Tomorrow we will be in Oregon and cruise the coast until we need warmth then will move inland. Starting to get a lot cooler as we progress north as we knew it would but it is becoming very green and densely vegetated. Will stop in the the Redwood Natioanal Forest and check out the big redwoods before moving north inthe morning
Henrietta meet us here tonight and had the light on.
